St. Antonius Multidisciplinary Hospital, Eschweiler
St. Antonius Hospital in Eschweiler is a large regional multidisciplinary medical centre. It serves as a teaching and research hospital for the Faculty of Medicine at RWTH Aachen University. Founded in 1814, it is one of the oldest medical institutions in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. St. Antonius Hospital, Eschweiler has 443 beds and comprises 12 specialised departments and 5 certified centres, three of which hold interregional (international) status and treat patients from Germany and the neighbouring Dutch provinces.
The best known of these is the Prostate Cancer Centre, headed by one of Germany's leading uro-oncologists, Prof. Dr. med. Joachim A.
