Professor Dr med. Christoph Berg

After finishing secondary school and completing alternative civilian service as a paramedic with the Bavarian branch of the German Red Cross, Christoph Berg enrolled in 1990 at the Faculty of Medicine of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, graduating in 1996.

Internship ─ in New York (USA), Munich and Schwabing.
In 1997-1998 ─ clinical training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University Hospital Lübeck, where from 1998 to 2001 he worked as a junior resident.
After passing the board examination in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2002, Dr Berg took up the post of senior physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine at University Hospital Bonn.
In 2005 Dr Berg was appointed Deputy Head Physician of the Prenatal Medicine Unit at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of University Hospital Bonn.
Since 2010 Dr Berg has headed the Chair of Prenatal Medicine and Gynaecological Sonography at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cologne.
In 2011 Dr Berg was appointed Adjunct Professor at the University of Bonn.

2004: Level II qualification of the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine / DEGUM-Stufe II.

Defence of his doctoral thesis at the Department of Toxicology of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Munich, "Comparison of two fluorescence enzyme immunoassays for the determination of barbiturates in blood serum".
1998
Various studies on the prenatal diagnosis of malformations, fetal echocardiography and Doppler sonography of fetal and uterine vessels, in collaboration with Dr med. U. Gembruch of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at University Hospital Lübeck.
2002
Continuation of his research work with a focus on prenatal diagnostics, in collaboration with Professor Dr med. U. Gembruch and Dr med.
2005
Granted the university teaching qualification in gynaecology and obstetrics by the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn.

Defence of his habilitation thesis "Diagnostic and prognostic markers of fetal heterotaxy syndromes".
