Basic Check-Up in Germany
- initial appointment with a general practitioner, medical history taking;
- physical examination;
- body mass index (BMI) measurement;
- blood pressure and pulse measurement;
- clinical blood and urine tests with microscopy;
- ultrasound of the abdominal and pelvic organs (liver, stomach, gallbladder and bile ducts, spleen, pancreas);
- ultrasound of the kidneys, adrenal glands and retroperitoneal space;
- ultrasound of the thyroid gland and regional lymph nodes +
colour Doppler imaging; - ultrasound of the brachiocephalic vessels (Doppler ultrasound of the neck vessels and carotid artery with measurement of vessel wall thickness, blood flow velocity and direction) ;
- transthoracic echocardiography;
- 12-lead ECG;
- colour Doppler echocardiography (echo);
- body plethysmography — measurement of total lung capacity;
- final consultation and discussion of the examination results with a specialist;
- prescription of treatment and preventive measures;
- a written report in German on the diagnostic findings, with treatment and prevention recommendations.
