Check-up for Women in Germany
The examination is supervised by at least 2 medical specialists
- initial appointment with a general practitioner, medical history taking;
- physical examination;
- body mass index (BMI) measurement;
- blood pressure and pulse measurement;
- clinical blood and urine tests with microscopy;
- ultrasound of the abdominal and pelvic organs (liver, stomach, gallbladder and bile ducts, spleen, pancreas);
- ultrasound of the kidneys, adrenal glands and retroperitoneal space;
- ultrasound of the thyroid gland and regional lymph nodes + colour Doppler imaging;
- ultrasound of the brachiocephalic vessels (Doppler ultrasound of the neck vessels and the carotid artery, with measurement of vessel wall thickness and of blood flow velocity and direction);
- transthoracic echocardiography
- 12-lead ECG;
- colour Doppler echocardiography (echo);
- body plethysmography — measurement of total lung capacity;
- final consultation and discussion of the examination results with the specialist; prescription of treatment and preventive measures;
- a written report in German on the diagnostic findings, with treatment and prevention recommendations for your treating physician;
- initial appointment with a gynaecologist and breast specialist, medical history taking;
- physical examination (palpation of the breasts and regional lymph nodes);
- breast ultrasound;
- gynaecological examination — early detection of cancer of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, uterus and labia;
- ultrasound of the pelvic organs;
- transvaginal ultrasound;
- fertility assessment (the body's reproductive function);
- Papanicolaou smear (PAP test) from the cervical canal (cervix) for cytological examination;
- for women of menopausal age — selection of drug therapy;
- contraception counselling;
- final consultation and discussion of the examination results with the specialist;
- prescription of treatment and preventive measures;
- a written report in German on the diagnostic findings, with treatment and prevention recommendations.
