University Hospital Aachen — an expert-level multidisciplinary medical centre

University Hospital Aachen, also known as Uniklinik Aachen, is the largest multidisciplinary medical centre in Europe and is classified at the highest level of care provision (supra-maximum care). The complex  comprises 40 specialised clinical departments, 30 research institutes, 5 interdisciplinary units and 21 highly specialised centres. The emergency department provides urgent care in critical situations, including for people injured in accidents, fires and other emergencies. The hospital has a helipad that can receive several air-ambulance helicopters at the same time.

The hospital occupies one of the largest hospital buildings in the world; it is a hub of advanced research, the teaching hospital of the medical faculty of Germany's top university — RWTH Aachen University — and a highly respected interdisciplinary general hospital of international standing. All of its departments are located under one roof, which ensures exceptionally close interdisciplinary cooperation between specialists from every field of medicine. Here everything — including the systematic links between everyday practice and research — is geared towards your comfort and the fastest possible recovery.
