University Hospital Düsseldorf is a unique blend of innovative technology, cutting-edge equipment and world-class expertise. University Hospital Düsseldorf comprises 33 clinical, outpatient and functional departments and clinical institutes, 44 research institutes and laboratories and 26 specialised medical centres. Every year the hospital treats 50,000 inpatients and around 300,000 outpatients. University Hospital Düsseldorf employs about 5,500 staff, 800 of whom are doctors. University Hospital Düsseldorf is a «maximum care» facility, which means that it provides every possible type of diagnostic and therapeutic medical service.
University Hospital Düsseldorf owes its high reputation, including internationally, above all to its state-of-the-art department of neuroradiology, its oncology department, its department of gynaecology and obstetrics and its department of paediatric haematology, oncology and clinical immunology.
In 2014 the hospital opened the Centre for Operative Medicine II (ZOM II), which brought together the department of otorhinolaryngology, the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery and facial plastic surgery, the department of trauma and hand surgery, as well as the department of neurology and the department of orthopaedics. The centre is equipped with modern operating theatres, intensive care units and a new emergency department. A helipad for air ambulance helicopters has been built at the centre.
Fitted out to the very latest technical standards, the Centre for Operative Medicine II, part of the medical complex of University Hospital Düsseldorf, is the key link for interdisciplinary cooperation and for making more efficient use of the capacity of the units it brings together.
The Centre for Operative Medicine II occupies 19,000 sq m and unites five major departments: the department of otorhinolaryngology, the department of oral and maxillofacial and plastic surgery, the department of trauma and hand surgery and the department of orthopaedics.
The centre has a shared surgical block with 10 operating theatres; it also houses the Central Emergency Department with its rooftop helipad, an intensive care unit and an intensive nursing care unit, as well as a movement disorders unit. The centre has its own radiology department providing the full range of diagnostic imaging services.
The company msp group germany arranges treatment for international patients directly through the secretariats and administration of the relevant clinical departments, bypassing the hospital's Coordination Office for International Patients, which guarantees our patients prompt processing of diagnosis and treatment requests and savings on the fees charged by that office.
