- examination by a gynaecologist, including manual assessment of the uterine body;
- ultrasound scan of the pelvic organs;
- Papanicolaou test (cervical smear for cancer cytology);
- where indicated, testing for human papillomavirus (HPV).
to clarify the diagnosis:
- CT scan of the uterus and adnexa;
- needle biopsy of the uterus.
